Important Notice – Cyclist and Hiker Pitches

Official Statement

Dear customers, dear friends,

For several days now, we have been the target of a coordinated online harassment campaign, initiated by certain members of the cycling community following our decision to no longer accept passing cyclists and hikers at our campsite.

Contrary to what some claim, there is no legal obligation for a private business to accept bicycle travelers. And no law in French legislation recognizes “anti-cyclist discrimination.”

Our decision is therefore fully legitimate and lawful, based on real experience, and made in full compliance with the law.

Many false reviews have been posted on Google by people who have never stayed with us, which they even admit in their messages.

Worse, some are openly encouraging others to leave fake 1-star reviews “in solidarity.”

This behavior constitutes online harassment and defamation, which we take very seriously.

• A formal complaint has been filed with the relevant authorities.
• A reasonable time period is being granted to those responsible to remove their reviews. After that, legal action will be taken individually.

We would like to reaffirm the following:

• Our decision to stop accepting cyclists and hikers is now firm and final.
• This decision follows numerous past experiences involving disrespect and incivility.
• We will not give in to pressure, threats, or online manipulation of our image.

We sincerely apologize to our true and loyal guests, who are indirectly affected by this situation.

Rest assured, the quality of our hospitality, services, and facilities remains unchanged, and is even improved this season.
